Adam Palka joins MWA for general management

We are thrilled to welcome Polish bass Adam Palka to MWA!

One of the most in demand basses today, Adam Palka has been praised for his “youthful and virile” voice “whilst also having immense reserves of power” (Bachtrack). He has performed at the most prestigious opera houses and in recent seasons has been earning huge acclaim for his extraordinary interpretation of the role of Méphistophélès in Gounod’s Faust, which he has sang at Wiener Staatsoper, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Staatsoper Stuttgart and Staatsoper Hamburg: Méphistophélès steals the show in the Wiener Staatsoper’s Faust… In fact, if one were to give the devil his due, this opera would be named after him, particularly when the role is performed as admirably as by bass Adam Palka”

This season Adam makes his anticipated returns to Royal Ballet and Opera as Timur Turandot and as Walter in Verdi’s Luisa Miller at Staatsoper Hamburg (which also features Brindley Sherratt as Wurm). In Stuttgart, where he is soloist of the company, he can be heard as Sarastro Die Zauberflöte and Vodník Rusalka, whilst on the concert platform he sings Verdi Requiem in Stuttgart and Warsaw.
