Ekaterina Gubanova joins MWA for general management

We are delighted to announce the general management of star mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova, one of the most celebrated singers today. Closely associated with the works of Wagner and Verdi, her vast repertoire also  includes roles such as Santuzza Cavalleria rusticana, Adalgisa Norma, Giovanna Seymour Anna Bolena, Lyubasha Tsar’s Bride, Mere Marie Dialogues des Carmelites and Marguerite Damnation du Faust.  In demand with the most renowned theatres and orchestras around the world, she is a frequent collaborators of conductors such as  Daniel Barenboim, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Riccardo Muti, Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta and Semyon Bychkov.

 

Currently starring as the Foreign Princess in a new Dmitri Tcherniakov production of Rusalka at Teatro di San Carlo Napoli, her many highlights this season include Fricka Das Rheingold in the new Tobias Kratzer Ring Cycle at the Bayerische Staatsoper; Venus in a new  Tannhäuser at Wiener Staatsoper; Eboli Don Carlos at Opera de Paris; and Brangäne Tristan und Isolde and Kundry Parsifal at the Bayreuth Festival . On the concert platform she appears in the New Year’s concert at Wiener Konzerthaus with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony; Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder at Teatro di San Carlo; Bluebeard’s Castle with Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Houston Symphony Orchestra; the 2nd Act of Tristan und Isolde in Monte Carlo; Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, Valencia; and Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn with LA Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel.
