Warner Erato release Huw Montague Rendall’s debut album: Contemplation

Huw Montague Rendall’s debut album Contemplation has now been released globally and is available to purchase or to download online. This album is a collection of opera arias and songs. Huw decided the repertoire based on music which has been present in his life during different stages and moment of great importance. They are all tied into this theme of ‘Contemplation’ from Hamlet’s famous monologue, ‘To be or not to be’ to Billy Bigelow’s Soliloquy.

This album has received glowing reviews from critics starting with a 5 star review in The Guardian – ‘The debut album from the British baritone lives up to the hype, showcasing his velvet and nuanced singing with room to spare’. Göran Forsling also commented for Music Web International when reflecting on Huw’s rendition of Mahler’s Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen that they ‘have a lot of recordings of this favourite song, but few have touched me as much as this one’.

If you would like to find out more about the album, you can hear Huw talk to James Jolly on the Gramophone podcast. It is available to buy or download here.
