Louise Alder makes her US, house and role debut as Micaëla in Francesca Zambello’s production of Carmen at San Francisco Opera. SF Gate upon reviewing the production stated, “Last but not least is the stunning performance of British soprano Louise Alder as Michaëla…She sings with ravishing high lines and with an unusual bit of defiance in this often-thankless role.”
Elena Villalón makes her recital debut at Carnegie Hall with pianist Craig Terry as part of Carnegie Hall’s season-long ‘Nuestros sonidos’ festival, showcasing Latin culture in the US. Villalón performs a programme including songs by Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona and Mexican composer María Grever as well as pieces by Rachmaninoff, Messiaen and Bizet.
