DAVIDSEN TO PRESENT CHRISTMAS CONCERTS IN NORWAY’S TWO LARGEST ARENAS, DECEMBER 2 & 5
Lise Davidsen will perform two Christmas concerts this December at Norway’s two largest arenas – DNB Arena in Stavanger on December 2 and Oslo Spektrum on December 5.
Joining her on stage will be the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (Oslo), Stavanger Symphony Orchestra (Stavanger) conducted by Grete Pedersen, acclaimed choir Solistkoret Ung and special star soloist pianist Leif Ove Andsnes. They will perform an evening of beloved Christmas classics.
Lise Davidsen, often referred to as “the voice of the century,” has in just a few years established herself as a commanding force on the world’s leading opera stages. She is a regular guest at the Metropolitan Opera, Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera and the Royal Opera House in London, earning exceptional acclaim from both audiences and critics alike.
“It’s a big moment for me and I’m excited to perform these Christmas concerts at these arenas. Christmas music with Grete, these two orchestras, Solistkoret Ung and my dear friend and regular collaborator Lief Ove Andsnes will be something truly special. Davidsen’s breakthrough came in 2015 when she won the top prizes at Operalia, the Queen Sonja Competition and the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition. Since then, she has made triumphant debuts at the world’s leading opera houses and festivals, all of which continue to invite her back.
Career highlights include the Last Night of the BBC Proms, Salzburg Easter Festival, her Carnegie Hall debut and the Summer Night Concert in Vienna before an audience of more than 100,000 people. Her solo concert at the Metropolitan Opera stage sold out and was recently released as an album on Decca.
As an exclusive Decca artist, she has also achieved major success with her recordings, including orchestral albums, Wagner recordings, Grieg songs with Leif Ove Andsnes and a best-selling Christmas album.
