Filipe Manu crowned winner of the Viñas Competition

On 21st January, New Zealand-Tongan tenor Filipe Manu was crowned joint winner of the prestigious Tenor Viñas Competition, held at the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona. The jury included casting directors from some of the most important opera houses, including Teatro Real, Madrid, Dutch National Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and La Scala Milan. His winning performance, which can be seen below, included arias by Donizetti and Gounod. As part of the prize, Filipe will return to the Liceu in a future season.
