After making his debut at the Vienna State Opera as Laca in Jenůfa, David Butt Philip makes an eagerly anticipated debut on December 4th as Walther von Stolzing in Keither Warner’s new production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg conducted by Philippe Jordan. He concludes his triple appearance in Vienna as Don Jose in Carmen, before making his debut at the San Francisco Opera as Der Kaiser in Die Frau ohne Schatten conducted by Sir David Runnicles and returning to the Royal Opera House as the Prince in a new contemporary staging of Rusalka by Natalie Abrahami and Ann Yee.
