Anna Pirozzi releases debut recital album

Soprano Anna Pirozzi has released her first recital album, alongside pianist Emma Abate. The album, released on December 13th by Resonus Classics, is simply titled “Songs”, and exclusively features works by 20th century Italian composer Franco Alfano.

Alfano is perhaps best known for finishing Puccini’s Turandot, and for his own opera Cyrano de Bergerac. However, he was a prolific composer of chamber songs, and it is these that Pirozzi and Abate aim to highlight, alongside cellist Bozidar Vukotic. Many of the songs featured on the album are world-premiere recordings.
