Romanian Soprano Iulia Maria Dan’s “richly coloured, beautifully finished but still radiantly clear sound” (Sydney Morning Herald) has made her highly in demand in the most prestigious houses across Europe.
"With an infinite nobility (especially applauded in the "Dove sono"), the voice unfolds in impressive crescendi; starting from the pianississimo and sparkling like a silver thread supporting the rises in volume. The amplitude of the material relates to that of the ambitus, the voice plunging towards a bass as tender as full-bodied.
Olyrix, July 2022 .
“Iulia Maria Dan sings the Ofelia, to whom the most beautiful arias have been bestowed, with great tenderness and intimacy.”
Opernnetz, July 2016
“The Romanian Iulia Maria Dan is a heartfelt, enchanting Ofelia.“
Online Merker, July 2016
“Iulia Maria Dan, with a dark and round voice, made a balanced portrait of Donna Anna, torn between nobility and torment”
Connessiallopera, November 2022
“Iulia Maria Dan rose to the expectations of the role of Donna Anna. Efficient in her arias, precise and expressive in the recits, she showed an elegant and secure vocal line, supported by a clear and pleasant voice”
Operaclick, November 2022
“Soprano Iulia Maria Dan was entirely convincing as a mini-skirted Mimi, and sang with a richly coloured, beautifully finished but still radiantly clear sound.”
Sydney Morning Herald, March 2018
“The real revelation in this act was Iulia Maria Dan as Mimì – her dark tone was almost mezzo-like, unexpected but very appealing.”
Bachtrack, March 2018
“Romanian Iulia Maria Dan …is a new face, however, bringing a lush soprano to Mimì, playing the role with a subtle self-possession flecked with a defiant playfulness that lingers even as her tubercular plotline progresses towards its inevitable conclusion.”
Limelight Magazine, March 2018
