Reviews

"With Ioan Hotea, the Staatstheater has a lyrical tenor who not only sings the indestructible Nemorino aria 'Una furtiva lagrima' with a pure head and superb legato, but also phrases with great flair for expressive nuances and excellently intones to pianissimo."
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

"The emotional power of this production was amplified in Act II, revealing the Elvino of the Romanian Ioan Hotea as a great lyrical tenor."
Seen and Heard

"The Duke Ioan Hotea's wonderfully supple and quite a sympathetic wearer, offered a clear and radiant tenor."
Frankfurter Rundschau

"This last character is sung by the young tenor Romanian Ioan Hotea (who had rather charmed us in the Barber from Seville to Strasbourg at the beginning of the season), to whom he lent his clear and stylish song."
Opera-Online

"Hotea sang the role in the most delicate nuances, always maintaining the balance between intense expression and well-measured distance, letting his lyrical timbre flow wonderfully, giving the exposed heights a brilliant radiance, the mezza voce nevertheless the robust, masculine resilience, the legatissimo sounded in an intimate melt piano."
